Hi all,
I used to be a teacher in a secondary school that sadly suffered a school wide traumatic event which really impacts the students and staff across the board.
I felt let down by both the school for lack of training and the local authority for lack of support through this time and witnessed both my students and colleagues struggle in the aftermath.
I wanted to know if this was a wider issue and what I could do to help solve it, even just a little. So I sacked off teaching (for now) and went back to university to study psychology at Masters level.
I am now at the point in my degree that I am doing research for my thesis which is looking at how prepared staff (in any child interacting role, not just teachers and TA's) in UK based secondary schools feel if they had to deal with a school wide traumatic event and what they feel would support them better.
I'm keen to hear from as many staff from across the UK as possible so if you work in a secondary school or have family or friends that do then please do share this. It only takes 10 minutes to complete and is 100% anonymous.
I'm hoping to develop free training and resources off the back of it.
Thanks for reading.
