I'm hoping to find a teacher in Cornwall (or even Devon) who might be able to help me out. I'm dual nationality British-Australian, living in Perth, Western Australia, but our family is currently on an extended visit to my mother near Penzance, as I have a year's leave and we haven't seen her since before covid.
DS is 11 and will start high school in Perth next year. He is academically very strong and I am hoping to have him accepted into his new school's gifted and talented education program. In order for this to happen, he needs to sit certain tests, scheduled for next month. Because we are in Cornwall instead of Perth, I have the responsibility of finding a suitable supervisor for these tests, who must be a 'registered and suitably qualified educational practitioner'.
Basically the supervisor would be sent the test papers, supervise DS while he completes them and then return them by courier to Perth (we would organise and book the courier). The testing itself takes just over 2 hours and it is all straightforward written answers - the supervisor doesn't need to actively do anything besides hand out / collect in the correct paper at the correct time. The testing needs to be done in 'a suitable room', which could be in a school, but doesn't have to be. Likewise, it could be done during school hours, but doesn't have to be, and weekends are fine too.
I would bring DS to the testing place at the time decided. We are totally flexible with days/times and happy to travel anywhere in Cornwall (or Devon). The only restrictions are that the tests would be despatched from Perth on 18th March (probably take at least a week to get here) and need to be given to the courier no later than 4th April.
Obviously we would pay for all of the time involved for organisation and supervision. And we would be very grateful forever to you😁
Thanks for reading and for any assistance you can give us.
