Have you ever been involved in a vote of no confidence

The unions have called a staff meeting for tomorrow and apparently are conducting an anonymous staff survey regarding serious concerns with leadership. The head is a gas lighting bully universally despised by staff, students and parents. Secondary provision. Has anyone ever taken part in a vote of no confidence?

Trust school, not LEA (not that there are many of those left!)

I haven't been involved in such a vote, but I have taken part in a joint grievance against leadership via the union. I'd say that might be a first step before a vote of no confidence if you haven't already done that.

The joint grievance got a very good response in terms of resolving or partially resolving a number of practical issues in the school- I think they are taken seriously?

Stay out of it.
SLT needs to managed/managed out properly through the correct policies & proceedings.
This could be you next time.

Yes. We also went out on strike over bullying Head and unwarranted suspensions (most of school NEU including support staff). It worked. Union still extremely strong in our school and we are treated well as a result.

@ValancyRedfern is the head (and leadership team) still in post, out of interest?

We as a staff collectively wrote to the chair of governors citing concerns about head. Thankfully chair supported us and head was replaced but was v scary at time. Not sure I would be so brave today.
