Without phoning in sick? Eventually a dismissal for gross misconduct, probably.

I'd suggest going to your GP and getting signed off in the short term, maybe negotiating an early exit from your contract via your union in the medium/long term?

Resign and leave at Easter.

Had a long chat with DH and decided to resign and leave at Easter.

Good move and a very short Spring term too.

If you are a teacher under the Burgundy book/STPCD, be aware that the arrangements for leaving Easter are slightly odd.

You can resign by the end of February to leave at the end of April. An exception is made if you are moving to another school, in which case you are released from the contract (and your pay stops) the day before the start of term in the new school. If you are not going to a new school, then you are not entitled to leave before the end of April, and the school can't make you leave earlier either. However, if both parties agree, then an earlier end date can be negotiated. In practice, schools will often be happy to agree to someone leaving at the Easter holiday so that their replacement can make a clean start at the start of the new term - but if finding a replacement proves difficult, they might not, especially if exam groups are involved. They might also be keener to release you at the start of the holiday than the end, as that saves them a couple of weeks of pay.

When you resign, it's probably best to resign wef end of April, and then add that you would actually prefer to leave at the end of March if this is possible, to open the door for discussion of that.
