I put my family first!

For the first time in forever that I can think of. I've brought some books home to mark and they will be returning to school unmarked.
I was just unable to do it this weekend. We had a gathering on Saturday and today was taking my boys swimming and an eye test for me plus trying to sort out the boys Christmas costumes.

I was just about able fit my planning in. I could have marked them tonight but DH has recently pointed out how much I give to my job and how he feels like he plays second fiddle to it. It was quite a serious conversation so I have to put him first a bit for the sake of my marriage.

Just hope I can find time to sort it all before anyone does a book look! 😆

Good for you. Family comes first and remember it's only a job. You have to look after yourself and your family. It's one week where a few books haven't been marked. Put it into perspective.

I agree - family definitely comes first.

I did the same - first weekend since September start and it felt good!!

Hate how this role has taken over my life 😞

I've also deleted all educational groups off Facebook. Fed up with it over taking my life.

Well done. My partner said the exact same thing and I am done taking work home!
He is wonderful and patient but I am been neglecting him and I know it.
We are not paid enough in education to do all the extra work

Well Done! I definitely prioritise work over family life. At school I am so busy and focused I forget all about home, but at home I always have half my mind on work, even when officially not working. I need to change as one day I'll wake up and dd will be grown and I spent her whole childhood focusing on my school 😥
