Resignation deadline - Who’s leaving at Christmas?

With the 31st October deadline just a week away - has anyone handed /planning to hand their notice in to leave at Christmas?

I’m a Head and I’ve had 11 resignations so far (staff team of 250 so not even 10%)

4 teachers moving onto promoted positions, 3 TA’s leaving, 3 retiring (including one teacher who has been at the school since 1978 - impressive 45 years service)
and one of my Assistant Heads who has been promoted to a Deputy position.

It is never far from my mind! A thought I entertain every half term. Can't work out if it is me or if it is everyone else.

If you agreed to pick up some teaching but signed nothing and are normally support staff (with four weeks' notice) - you want to keep your "normal" job but do not wish to do the additional teaching and will only tide the school over until Christmas, do you I need to tell them today?

I'm leaving my job and hopefully teaching after 23 years. I'm going to do supply as a stop gap until I decide what I want to do instead but this is not the job I trained for anymore and the relief is undescribable!

I hear this all the time in my circles. I wish you all good things.

Thank you and all the best to you whether you stay in teaching or move on.
