SLT jobs - competitive?

Hi all, just wondering how competitive it is for South East England SLT positions? A friend is AHT in a tough school and they shortlisted seven after about 30 applications for another AHT role. Other highly qualified colleague has applied for over 5 jobs and not got anywhere. Know now is not the best time to be looking but just trying to manage my expectations if it’s going to be a long slog!

Not in the SE, but I do think AHT jobs tend to be more competitive than many roles in teaching. However, most people applying for them are looking to move up from middle leadership, and often aren't that experienced. I think if you're an experienced AHT, you'll stand out!

I know a lot of people do the leadership qualifications, but I think a lot of schools value experience, and a track record of delivery more?
