Application via TES, no covering letter?

This is the first time I've applied through TES (Support Staff post).

Seems really weird not to attach a covering letter highlighting why I'm perfect for the post! Is this a common way to apply for jobs these days?

Is there an email address that you can send a covering letter to?

Not really - there's no contact name on the job description and the School's website doesn't have an HR person listed. It's part of an academy.

i guess, if they'd wanted covering letters, they'd have asked for them; it just seems a missed opportunity.
