I’ve been informed that I have to take a pay cut next academic year - think I’m the only member of staff that is affected by this. However I’m still expected to do the same level of work. I’ve approached my union for advice but was just wondering if anyone had experienced this ?
I wish I had more notice as there’s very little time to find another job now this year.
Feeling rather numb about it all and don’t know how I will manage on a reduced salary.

I m not an expert by any means, and it’s hard to comment without some idea of your role - eg TA or teacher, LEA or MAT. I hope your Union are helpful. The least they could do is get your employer to clarify why you are the only one affected.

it’s only mid May, there’s loads of time to find a new job for September and most schools seem to have lots of vacancies.

Are you in the UK? State school? How is that possible? Need more context really.
