Does your Primary school struggle to recruit teachers?

Just that really. My school has an influx of applications for advertised posts but I noticed on a thread the other day that some people said they could not get staff. I knew this was the case at secondary but did not realise that it happens in Primary.
I appreciate it is probably are dependant but I am in a northern city and we get a lot of applicants for teaching posts. The only ones we don't get a lot of applicants for is EYFS!

There is a huge teacher shortage full stop

Primary ITT recruitment didn't meet targets last year, and it's way down this year.

Like all things, I do think it's geographic though. With secondary, for a long time, we've seen nice schools in affordable places able to recruit, whilst others have struggled. Now, in secondary, I think everyone is struggling.

Locally, it's the very rural small schools that struggle to recruit the most.

We really struggle. We’re in a fairly deprived bit of a large town just outside London Fringe. So people can work in a school 10 minutes down the road and earn lots more in a school with fewer challenges. Not really surprising that we’d get fewer applicants.

A city in the south west and we always get lots of applications at this time of year. We did struggle with one mid-year, short term contract once, but generally no problems.

Rural county - there are still very few jobs advertised here and those that are are maternity covers or short term contracts. People don't leave their jobs here! It's a complete anomaly compared to all the news of teacher shortages.

However, secondaries cannot get Maths or Science teachers just like the rest of the country.

No. I think the struggle is retention.
