Trust proposal to change Support Staff hours from 39 to 38 weeks

I have contacted our Union but they haven't got back and we have a meeting tomorrow.

Does anyone please know if our Academy Trust can make support staff change their contacts from 39 to 38 weeks?

Who have you contacted in your union? And which union is it? If NEU, local officers will probably be more help than national. Do you have a rep in school?

I don't think there's anything legal stopping a trust from doing this, but they should do a proper consultation.

I believe that there is due process, including consultation, which will have to be followed, but in essence yes, I believe they can.

Unfortunately the choice is likely to be between the reduction in working weeks or redundancies.
