How many of you are in touch with former students?

I had left school almost 10 years ago but I want to get back in touch with one of my teachers from secondary school just to say thank you etc but don’t know how to/ whether they’ll remember me or if it’ll be weird? Thanks

As a teacher I would love this. I've been teaching and living in the same area for over 20 years so often bump into former students/parents -I love hearing what they're up to.

write to them care of your former school, that might reach them.

Do you know if they still work at the same school? You could send an email to the general enquiry email for the school and that be forwarded to the teacher (the school office would not be able to give out their direct email address under GDPR) - however, saying that though, if you know their first name or initial you could try your luck by emailing that at the domain - you’ll know if it is the wrong email as will bounce back.
Failing that, you could always try Linkedin? Many teachers do use this? Facebook I probably would not do as they might not be able to respond due to school policy?

I think it’s a good idea to be fair. I’m a HT and have been now for nearly 26 years, it is good to see how former students are getting on - I often see many at school events now.

I went to the wedding of one former student and am in touch with many more. It's lovely to know what they're doing.
