Just looked om my school site. There is an advert for new T.a on more startmoney then I am.I have been with school for 18months and have just been awarded a payrise for an outstanding appraisal and a re banding to 2.c from 2.b but it is still over 1000 less then advert.

I had to push for my regrading as I had a interview yesterday for a new job and the extra money would be great.

Would u approach head or business manager ?

Is it that it hasn't been pro-rata'd and shows the annual salary as opposed to the actual salary?

I would confirm the new role is definitely being advertised on that salary (and it's not a pro-rata salary etc) and then I would speak to the head.

I would be prepared to hear that there's a reason the role is offering more money (e.g. 1:1 to a particular child, with specific skills needed) but then I'd ask if I could apply for that role (if I wanted it).
