Last day of term 23rd of December

Anyone else still got 2 weeks to go?

Im in a Welsh secondary school and completely exhausted, dreading 2 more weeks of exhausted wound up kids nagging to watch Christmas films!

Behaviour will be worse and worse and I’m sure attendance will drop massively next week too. I will be dragging them through simultaneous equations till the bitter end 🤦🏻‍♀️

My school we break up on the 22nd Dec and students are back on the 5th Jan with INSET days on the 3rd and 4th.

Same here! Attendance was bad enough last week, I dread to think how bad it will be by the 19th!

We break up on the 23rd but not back until 9th Jan.

I don’t understand why Wales have done this. The first ‘official’ day of the holidays is Boxing Day! It is a nightmare if you need to travel anywhere for Christmas. Attendance is going to be very low from Wednesday onwards.

Just got to get through to Friday, couldn't manage any more!

My LA in Scotland finishes Thursday 22nd and goes back on the 4th January. Awful.

We are ploughing on with work this week but they’re so past it.

Seems like some very short holidays here! Are you getting extra elsewhere to make up for it?

Definitely couldn't manage another week after this one- and our attendance is pretty poor already, although that is partly due to snow affecting busses etc.

Good grief, are they trying to actually make all the Welsh teachers quit!
