Has everyone sent their ballots off?

Hope everyone is doing well in the lead up to Christmas!

Obviously the two main unions are balloting right now, and I'm sure a lot of people have voted, whether for or against striking. However, the data unions have access to suggest a lot of people haven't returned their ballots yet!

Surely people want their voices heard either way? It's not that much effort to send your ballot off- the postage is paid, and you just have to drop it off at a post box.

It would be a real shame if the vote is lost by default due to lack of turnout- and it will send a real message of apathy out to the government too.

If anyone hasn't sent theirs yet, would you be willing to share the reasons?

If you haven't had one, ask your school rep to follow it up

Pretty sure you should have had it by now for both unions. I know for NEU last date for replacement ballots is the 16th, so do follow this up asap! Your union may have a specific email to request a new ballot, I would Google and I'm sure your rep will know!

I've found the email address and I can request a paper. I may have had it and "filed it" away in t a safe place

Not yet, but will do!

NASUWT and returned it, voted yes.

We have since had a rep come into school reminding us to return it, and I've had lots of emails and texts from NASUWT asking for ballots to be returned and explaining how to get a new one if misplaced.

The sm campaign has also been very vocal. If it's a no due to apathy then we deserve what we get - pretty much the only public sector employees who cba returning a pre-paid postcard to protect our working conditions would be a gift to the government and proof they can treat us however they want.

Yes and yes.

Been teaching 22 years and never voted to strike before. But something has to happen to save our profession.

Make sure you do it ASAP- Christmas + postal strike might delay it getting there. It could be really tight- every vote is going to count.
