I'm off sick today- sore throat, body ache (not covid) feel better than yesterday and deciding whether to go in tomorrow not feeling 100% or stay off and do assessments/ reports?
What would you do?

There will be many differing opinions on this and mine is not necessarily right.

Personally, if I can dose up and drag myself through the day, I do. Even if it means I adapt my lessons slightly so that it's more the kids doing a task/questions from the book etc. And me providing help from my chair.

I'm a secondary HoD and in all honesty, I find it's more hard work being off - setting cover, sending any key messages, having my duties covered and then when I get back, catching up on everything. Plus, the work pupils do is often not to the same standard if a non specialist covers which is nobody's fault but means I have to reteach anyway.
