Advisory teacher job

Hi, I'm interested in applying for an advisory teacher role with the LA that I have seen advertised.
Has anybody else made the move from SENCO/teacher to this role? If you have would you mind sharing how you have found it? Do you enjoy the job, is there job security, has it made a difference to your work life balance?
Thanks

I did it the other way. I had a post as a specialist teacher of SpLD, then behaviour management advisory teacher in two local authorities. I was headhunted to be a SENCo/Assistant Head in a secondary school.

I enjoyed it on the whole. There was quite a lot of training for teachers, governors, students, as well as individual and group work with pupils. There’s a flexibility to a certain extent that I liked, but what is lacked was the collegiate support of colleagues in school. There were colleagues, but it was much more of a sole job.
