Pregnant...should I stay quiet?

Hi,
The situation is this. I'm pregnant...it's still very, very early. We've been ttc #2 for nearly four years now. I've lost 4 pregnancies in the process but I'm generally quite resilient and tend to be OK. Most of them turn out to be ectopic, which is why I keep a very close eye on things and generally let my SLT know early on when getting a positive result.
Now, this one was our fourth round of ivf. The first three didn't work out.

I'm back in one of my favourite year groups this year (I've been a teacher for 15+ years). I'm phase leader and I teach PE in two different year groups (nobody ever wants to teach PE, it seems). I love my class this year...but they can be high maintenance. :)

I'm currently considering whether to tell SLT about the pregnancy once I've had the all-clear from my gynaecologist. (If everything's alright...if not, I will probably need treatment anyway, so will be out for at least a week.) Once I tell them, I'm likely to be signed off until I go on mat leave. I'm abroad, so rules are different here.
I'm debating with myself whether I should try and hold out until Christmas. Thing is, I'm teaching swimming... It'll be obvious in no time.

Congratulations on your good news. I would have the conversation with the senior leadership team / HT once you have had the all-clear. Christmas is 8 weeks away and during that time ‘bump’ will be more visible.
The school will probably need to employ a temporary teacher to cover your teaching role and allocate your phase leader responsibilities temporarily to another colleague until you return.

What did you decide to do?

I lost the pregnancy shortly after but at least it wasn't ectopic this time, so I just went back to work as normal after half term.

Sorry to hear your news. I checked in with you because a colleague was asking my advice and I remembered your post. Take care.
