Hi All,

Previously taught secondary school, now in primary school as LA/Coversupervisor, so I cover classes with staff absence (which is often!) I work in an Academy and the pay is awful.

I’m considering leaving education completely.

Any ideas what I could do? Retrain as? I’ve never worked in an office so have no idea what that entails but I’d like some peace and quiet and get on with my work independently.

Has anyone done this?

Oh and I’d like to get paid more than what I do now (which is really really low 😭)

On Facebook thread a brilliant group called "life after teaching - exit the classroom and thrive"
Lots of good ideas, regular referrals to their youtube "pit pony" video which helps people identify the financial bottom line and see options for their future.
A particular favourite for escaped teachers is the Civil Service - very transferable skills, and a lovely surprise to work in a pleasant and supportive environment.
Good luck!

@MacarenaMacarena do you know if those sites are private? Don't need anyone knows I'm considering leaving.
