I have a student on her final placement (primary) and I want to get her a collection of things to help her in her first year but my mind has gone totally blank!
Any ideas what to include apart from a lot of chocolate and wine???

I got a student a funky things to do list, note pad and post its set from Paperchase a couple of years ago. Seemed to go down well. Possibly a nice pen pot for their desk?

Depends on your budget, but my PGCE mentor bought me some scented reward stickers, some stamps and some books with maths treasure hunts to photocopy which I really appreciated.
If you're wanting to splurge a planner or notebook or something along those lines from the positive teacher company are truly lovely.

i would say a planner or possibly go on Amazon and get a nice set of paper mate pens for marking and maybe a pack of highlighters. Again depends on you budget but as another poster said THe positive teacher company have beautiful planners.

A decent pair of scissors and their own staple gun.

I once got a student teacher one of those wooden frogs that you stroke with a stick to make a noise. Great way of getting attention in class.

A heavy duty staple remover (one of my best buys for myself ever)…

One of my best HoDs used Pilot pens many years ago. Being a skinflint. It was many years before I splashed out and tried them. Absolutely brilliant. A set of coloured pilot pens would be great.

(Sad stationery fan speaking here.. there are probably more exciting things to buy..)

off to look at Positive teacher site…

By the way, how wonderful you are buying student teacher a present.😀😀😀

Do you mean Pilot erasable @Dendron123 ? Rymans currently have that other marvellous erasable range of pens - I bought a little collection for my almost - a - teacher pal who’s been giving me a lift to uni. Erasable pens are the best!

Dontfuckingsaycheese · 21/06/2022 23:42

’Legami’

They’re beautiful!! shark, unicorn, cat, pig, alpacca. I’m also almost a teacher and went there on Fri for a treat. I was like an 8 year-old girl ❤️ But with loads of pocket money!

Dendron123 · 22/06/2022 06:57

I haven't got round to the erasable pens but if I get a new long term gig Ok might splash out . (Son buys standard ones for me as presents - got a stash to get through)

Dontfuckingsaycheese · 22/06/2022 08:58

They’re a lifesaver for clumsy markers 😵‍💫
