Pension Aviva - opting out/ employer's contribution?

My school is in Aviva. If I consider opting out (just need the money ), woudl the shcool also not contrinute then? Is there a percentage that I coudl contribute to ensure employer contributes too? Thank you

The school will not contribute if you opt out of the pension. You must contribute the minimum percentage they require, which is likely the default setup that you're already paying.

Have a chat with your school, I have spoken with a few employed in the private sector where the schools in their eagerness to avoid strike action and move away from the TPS gave staff a range of options and some of those did indeed involve paying staff more to not be in any pension.
