Wondering if anyone has ever done it? Hard work? well paid? thinking it might be a good, less stressful source of income.

PS I know this might make me poacher turned gamekeeper, but needs must etc. any advice welcome, thanks.

Well paid? No
Reasonably paid? Yes
Stressful? Incredibly
Very tight deadlines and a quick turn around expected. There are dummy questions designed to check your marking thrown in randomly which if you get wrong lock you out. That is also stressful as they are often 'trick' ones.
That said it's over quickly Grin
Contracts were given out a couple of months back to existing markers. No idea if they have any space left for this year. It tends to be hard to get your foot in as they use existing markers but once in you're one of them.
That can then also lead you down the path of coded marking where you get invited to code answers to questions going through the cycle of testing before they make it to a live paper.

thank you.....they have sent through a contract but as it doesn't specify anywhere the number of papers you are expected to mark, or within what time frame, I am smelling a rather large rat!!! Think I might swerve it 😀

It's done by question rather than by paper like it use to be. So you'll open up question 5 for example and mark that for 20 mins, then switch to another. You get paid per question. It is over in less than 2 weeks which is good but means those 2 weeks are very busy, one of which is half term.
