What’s the longest you’ve had to wait after interview before finding out result?

Historically I have always found out either way the day of the interview, but I had an interview at an independent school last week and I still don’t know either way (although I’m 99% certain that I didn’t get the job) but I’m cross that despite all the effort I put in to a lesson, a presentation and the application itself, they can’t even be bothered to say sorry you weren’t right for us, but thank you.

Out of interest, what’s the longest you have waited before finding out for certain?

Nearly a year, still waiting! They had said it might be a week after interview, by which point I had realised there were red flags all over so didn't chase it up, just counted my blessings. Fingers crossed for you.

Was this a school in the north east of England can I ask?

School in Yorkshire when i was a trainee, ran interviews over 2 days for 1 post ( they interviewed at 12 people!) said they would let us know at end of day 2. Radio silence, was back in uni 4 days later and another student on the course was full of that fact she had got that job. Always think of it as a lucky escape

2 weeks was the longest. I sent an email chasing a response and they rang me to say I hadn't got the job but was a close second. Then 24hrs later they rang back and said the person they had appointed had demanded more money so they wanted me after all. My best job ever. Loved it and only left as relocated for DH's job
