Anyone back on Mon with mixed feelings?

As much as I do love my job, half term is coming to an end and I have mixed feelings about Mon morning Confused

6 week half term but there is so much to fit in!

Y11/13 mocks plus actions to get them through the final exams are obviously ongoing. Including extra revision sessions.

Need to appoint a temporary mat cover for after Easter (currently, finding hens teeth might be easier)

Science week is upcoming

Lots of T&L stuff to do which is exciting but takes time.

Appraisal mid year reviews.

Lots of other whole school actions/strategies.

I am making a plan/list this afternoon to see what can be delegated where (I am HoD). Also trying to find anything non essential that I can just cross off!

I've had a lovely half term with my DS but done pretty much no school work - oops!

Ah well - onwards and upwards!

Same plus 4 weeks to school show. I'm not sleeping with all the stress so genuinely concerned i'll need to be signed off once the show is done!

Oh @MsGoodenough that's not good! I honestly don't know how people do school shows! It must be exhausting!

I seem to be sleeping less well at the moment and had an awful headache yesterday 😕

Hopefully we make it to Easter OK. At least it's getting lighter and warmer!

I’ve spent the day looking at non teaching jobs and writing a CV! I’m starting my (non existent) plan (as I have no time to write one) to escape. Luckily year 11/13 mocks were last half term so those are marked but so much to do but I am determined to use my evenings and weekends to job hunt this half term.

PumpkinPie2016 · 27/02/2022 07:49

Good luck @Nonamenoplacetogo

Although it's sad when colleagues leave the profession Sad

A lot of my issue is that I took over as HoD in Jan and have inherited a number of issues Confused some of which could have been avoided. Lots of staff absence as well which doesn't help. I feel like I spend my days firefighting.

On the plus side, I have a new job (same role, new school) for September which I am really looking forward to.

I almost handed my notice in before half term - even wrote my resignation letter, printed it off and wrote an email to SLT for a meeting (then deleting it!). Have decided to leave at the end of summer 2 instead to save up. I'm really gutted as it should be the start of my last 6 weeks but instead have much longer to go. But still, the countdown is on so the sooner I go back the sooner I'll finish

Nonamenoplacetogo · 27/02/2022 16:09

@Dippydinosaurus have you got another job lined up? I’m on my own so need to find another job, I’m aiming to finish this summer but realistically it might be another year or so before I go.
