Reviewing HT’s cover whilst she’s on mat leave

I’m a governor at an infant school. We did the HT’s mid-year review today. She’ll be on maternity leave from the end of the summer term.

It came up that nobody knows what form of review (if any) we do for the person covering her maternity leave.

Does anyone know? The person covering hasn’t been appointed yet.

We would look to set the interim HT some targets in-line with the school development plan and possibly following on from the HT's targets. However, the actual content of the targets would depend on how long they were going to be there and whether they were 'acting up' from within the school or an external interim.

I’m not involved in planning for the maternity leave but I think it would be a secondment from another school.
