Goodbye teaching and onto my next career

I’m posting this as when I was thinking about leaving teaching, and in despair of finding anything else, posts like this really helped.

I updated my CV, did loads of stuff on Linked In, and set my status as open to opportunities. I was contacted several times by recruiters, and after going through a lot of aptitude tests and severe allergies interviews I’ve finally been offered a job.
It’s a slight pay cut from UPS3, but I have the potential to be back at that within 3-5 years, I have training, a 10% bonus, lots of lovely bonuses, and I’m finally going to have a job where I won’t have to deal with being sworn at.

Good times.

Thanks. I find this really inspiring 😁. If you don't mind me asking what field is the new career in? Is it linked to teaching? Did using LinkedIn make a difference do you think? I came to teaching late after a civil service career and am pretty done now my own kids are no longer primary age, but no idea how to get back out again within taking a huge pay cut. Advice would be warmly welcomed 😁

I took early retirement at 55 and did a masters in Socal Work, hard work in a different way..but love the autonomy and being treated like a grown up.
