Anyone taught Poles Apart geography topic primary?

Hi there, I have been asked to teach this to Year 1/2 next term with no planning. Our Geography Lead is off on maternity and when I asked at school I was advised to ask on forums. I have googled, twinkled found quite a lot resources but nothing objectives wise. The Geography curriculum on gov.uk talks very generally....I am looking to be pointed in the right direction....

Have you looked at Oddizzi? Have you not been provided with any medium term planning? The topic seems very broad to me (Humanities / curriculum co ordinator)

Hi Jimmy thanks for your reply I have tried to sign up for the seven day free trial with Oddizzi and I end up in a loop. I have emailed their admin to try and sort it but no response as yet. I have literally been given the title no MTP nada....

These are the objectives I cover in this topic. Is your science linked to this too? We're also doing animals including humans so covering those objectives too.

There's loads you can do if you look at the continent and oceans (find the hopscotch songs on YouTube) then move onto weather, climate, hot and cold regions. There are loads of ideas for the polar regions around on social media and Twinkl etc. Lots of nice practical activities if you follow a CP approach!

Plan Bee also has a sequence of lessons if you want to see their structure.

Thanks folks I can't read your screenshot sadly Career, I am feeling a bit happier...I can't afford to buy into the lovely sites . I have suddenly found myself working double my hours to help the school cover sickness etc at short notice...I'll get there...

bear If you look on Plan Bee you can see the structure of the geography bit of their unit, even if you don't buy the materials. It might give you some ideas and then you can pad it out. There's loads of stuff around. My screenshot was just the NC objectives I cover in this unit.
