Dismissed from employer. Future job prospects?

I am a PGCE student and have been dismissed with immediate effect in my part time TA job, in the same college I am doing my placement. I have done some research and their dismissal is unfair because they have no grounds to do this as I did nothing wrong.
However, will a dismissal on my record affect my future job prospects as a teacher? Surely I will have to declare this on any application forms now? Also, will this jeapordaise my chances of getting a teaching job at the college if I pass my training?

Also, I will be appealing against their decision, and trying to have this counted as a resignation, if that makes sense.

Are you in a union? Contact them and give them all the details. They’ll be able to offer more specific support than most of us can here.

Yes it would have to be declared on all future applications and would affect your chances at the college.

As Attagirl says, contact union ASAP.

They must have it was pretty serious to instantly dismiss you?

JanglyBeads · 03/10/2021 18:33

*have thought it was pretty serious

All what happened was they didn't pay me on the scheduled payment date. This was my line managers fault because she was supposed to process the timesheet which she lost. Then she said it was all sorted when it wasn't.
I called HR to ask for their grievance policy. Then when they called back I apologised if I came across as brash on the phone.
No letter given explaining the reason for dismissal. Just a P45.

Why argue to have it counted as resignation when you can go for an unfair dismissal payout?

Why did you apologise for being brash? Were you abusive on the phone to HR?

JanglyBeads · 03/10/2021 21:44

Surely there has to be more to it than that!

Were you abusive on the phone first time?
