Anyone going abroad and worried?

We have a holiday booked for next week. I'm worrying that I will have to isolate when we get back and miss the first few days of inset! This would only happen if we test positive as double jabbed and we will cancel our holiday if it goes to Amber plus etc. Is anyone else worried about this? I know we've had 6 weeks off but I had this holiday booked over a year and didn't expect to still be battling Covid and testing etc. Surely I could catch Covid and have to isolate anywhere so travelling doesn't make any difference

Yes we are in the same boat, and are finding it incredibly frustrating. Fully vaccinated, yet we are required to fork out for tests to return, on top of multiple tests for our children - it’s eye watering how much it is going to cost. Let alone run the risk of being confined to expensive quarantine hotels on top! And for what? Where we are going is quiet and secluded and completely private - we won’t be eating out or clubbing in bars. Cases are lower than UK, and their vaccinations are on a similar par with UK, so why?? It’s an absolute joke, and seems completely ludicrous that they allowed unrestricted travel from places like India, at a time when people were not even vaccinated, and hospital admissions were soaring. Makes no sense at all. Confused

We are abroad, have been for the past two weeks and still got two and a half weeks left. Not particularly concerned, as in a country with an infection rate about 10 times lower than the UK, and everyone still wearing masks. We’re coming back with (exactly) enough time to quarantine if the situation changes, but in terms of testing positive and having to isolate I don’t see it as any different to if we ended up catching it in the UK and had had to isolate anyway.
