Teacher gifts in secondary school

Sorry, I’m not a teacher so I hope you don’t mind me posting here, but I figured you guys might know the answer to my question.

My DD has just finished secondary school. She has a fairly recently developed disability and they have been so wonderfully supportive and just generally amazing, so I wanted to say thank you.

I was going to send a hamper from Hotel Chocolat or something that can be shared around the year 11 team but I was a bit worried they might not be able to accept it - COVID rules, etc.

We, however, have been told not to accept any gifts this year (to do with TAGs).

Honestly, an email to the Head would be hugely appreciated (and/or a card with a nice message). We really don’t expect gifts!

The year 11 team have been so bloody brilliant with DD on top of the shit show of the last year that I just wanted them to know how grateful we are.

What if I hang fire until the end of the month after the grades have been submitted?

I teach mostly y11 and 13 and received some very kind personal gifts as well as some group ones. I never expect them but they're lovely to get.

Wait until after the 18th (TAGs deadline). Everybody will be happy to receive a gift, especially if it is a team gift and not for one individual teacher.
