Chances of lots of jobs coming out next week?

Hello,
Experienced primary teacher who has relocated to the beautiful SW. Only 2 jobs currently advertised . Had one interview and apparently nearly 100 applications for it. I was very close to being hired (according to Head). Feeling a little worried I may have to supply. In the SE there were so many jobs... any advice? Will more come out next week once resignation deadline has passed or have I missed the (tiny) boat?

Sorry OP but don't hold your breath. Even at the worst points of the recruitment crisis over the last few years the SW has been one region which has been largely unaffected.

Time to get proactive. Polish your CV, including referees, and prepare to make speculative applications to schools you are interested in. Schedule the emails to send at 7am on Tuesday. Your aim is to land in the inbox of a headteacher who has had an unexpected last-minute resignation the day before. Good luck!

It really depends what type of school you are going for in the SW as well.

It might be very difficult to get a job in a little school with a sea view in an idyllic Cornish village, but it really isn't do difficult to get one in one of the chronically deprived SW towns.

I'm inland, but you could work at my school and live in beautiful rolling countryside only 20 minutes away and an easy trip to the coast. School is not in a naice place and has a challenging catchment. We only get a very ordinary number of applicants.
