Member of staff heard parents talking and one parent calling his colleague a name. Head was informed of the name calling (it was quite string words) and said nothing can be done as staff member can't be 100% sure the parent was talking about colleague. Seems like an easy out for not having to confront the parent. What do you think?

Just checking - was the parent abusing the colleague, or was (s)he just overheard 'expressing his/her opinion' of the colleague ?

Trophy123 · 19/05/2021 00:10

Just overheard talking to other parents, not to a staff member.

A parent calling their own colleague a name? Why would the school do anything about this?

You're not expressing yourself very clearly, because I'm unsure how this has anything to do with the school.

EllieNBeeb · 19/05/2021 13:59

Even if a parent was talking about a member of the school team to another parent, so what? They're allowed to talk about whatever they want.

Trophy123 · 19/05/2021 14:13

Sorry it wasn't clear. A parent was overheard, by a member of staff, on the playground, calling a different member of staff a fucking bitch.

On school grounds?

Trophy123 · 19/05/2021 14:53

Yeah on the school playground at pickup

To answer your questions, nothing and nothing. I wouldn’t even have mentioned it to anyone, personally.
If said colleague (is she a teacher?) has a difficult relationship with this parent, it’s for her to deal with, with the help of the head if necessary.
