Teacher to TA maternity pay

Hi there,
Wondering if anyone can help me with this query, I am resigning from my teaching post to take up a TA position. I have been a teacher for 3 years and would like to know if anything happens regarding maternity leave pay if I begin a TA role in September.
Any replies will be greatly appreciated thank you 🙂

Have you already resigned,? It's my understanding you need to have been in a job 12 weeks before becoming pregnant to get maternity pay, and in general your teaching contract would have far better maternity pay than a TA job, which are often term time only anyway. Are you pregnant now? It would be a very bad time to resign, if you are.

Thankyou for your reply, I'm not pregnant but will resign this month, I have worked previously as a TA and feel I am more suited to the role.
