I think I may have replied to your other thread but possibly not so apologies if I am repeating myself!
Visits prior to interview may be tricky at the moment due to covid. It's generally not expected in secondary anyway- I can't remember if you are primary or secondary?
I would say, be open minded and cast your net wide. The 'perfect' school may not have a vacancy at the moment. Sometimes, a school that seems perfect may turn out not to be. Equally, one that you accept a job at that may not seem perfect may turn out really well.
I did my NQT year in a 6th form college. When I got the job, I thought it would be perfect. It was fine and I worked there for 5 years but it wasn't as perfect as I imagined it to be.
I moved to my current school for an Easter start and spent the first term wondering if I had made a terrible mistake. The department had staffing issues and things had been unstable for a while. I thought I would give it a year and then maybe move on.
Five years and two promotions later, I couldn't be happier
After two terms, something clicked and I was keen to be part of the team driving improvement. I couldn't imagine working anywhere else now.
Sometimes you 'grow' into a school. Worst case if you start somewhere and don't like it, you can find something else.
