Parents’ evenings / open evenings

Just wondered if anyone has a link that sets out the guidance for parents’ and open evenings. I’ve googled and can’t find it - I couldn’t see it in the guidance on school operations I’ve just read. Common sense tells me they shouldn’t be happening but I need to show someone with slightly less sense.

Not sure about specific guidance but we have continued with parents evenings, we used an online booking system anyway and this now generates a video call.
We have also done multiple events 'virtually ' like open evenings where we have created videos.

Not sure there's any specific guidance. They're all happening virtually round here.

Thanks. I remember (I think) there being something in the original guidance but can’t see anything now. We’ve been doing it virtually so far but there is an intention to go back to normal . I can’t see how it can be allowed if I can’t even sit indoors with my mum ..

From September I presume it will be face to face although I think a lot of places will keep virtual parents evening.

There is guidance about visitors and limiting them. Perhaps you could look at that.

To be honest, we've liked the virtual evenings. In my school, there may even be a push to keep them like this after we can go back to face to face.

I'm in Melbourne and while it's all back to normal in the classroom, parents and teachers have overwhelmingly voted for online parent/teacher meetings.

Teachers can work from home, parents know that no-one overhears the meeting.

The situation for teachers here is that any time spent after hours at such meetings has to be given back via TOIL.
