Ideas to make me more employable

Hi all, I have been a primary teacher for about 10 years and have only ever worked in one school. I am looking to move schools and I am wondering if there is anything courses/training I could do to help make me more employable. Any ideas welcome.

Hi, hope it’s ok to post this?

Presumably you have done CPD and taken on a range of responsibility with your current school? I think that will be fine. I'd much rather see somebody who had been settled and developed themselves and their practise in one school than somebody who'd had 5, 6 jobs in that time and never really seen through a cycle of the school development plan or ofsted.

Thank you for getting back to me. Yes I have been part of the SLT (stood down when TTC as didn’t need extra stress) so have management experience as well as heading up a range of subjects and phases. I just realise that I am a fairly expensive teacher and wanted to have something that makes me stick out from the crowd. I was thinking perhaps assessment experience might help. People always seem to have trouble with assessment!!

I think you will be fine! I'd just apply, if you have problems then maybe look at doing NPQSL? I think it can be done in two terms and you could focus your project on assessment.

I doubt you will have problems though.
