Anyone having to deal with Northants County Council at the moment?

I have been trying to raise a query with NCC for weeks now about my pension which I’ve been paying into for several years has (to my horror) £0 in it.
Their phone lines all direct you to email addresses, their emails are automated response emails which tell you to use Let’s Go Direct but when I use Let’s Go Direct there’s an error which just loops back to an error page. I have even tried Twitter to no avail. They are completely impossible to contact.
They’ve always been pretty bad but this is another level!
The bursar at my school has tried and even the kind people from the TPS have tried.
They have thousands of pounds of my money because they neglected to fill out an opting in form several years ago when I returned from ML.
I’ve even tried emailing other departments in the hope that I’ll be directed to the right person but it doesn’t work.

How can they get away with being so uncontactable?

Is there anywhere else I can turn?

Thanks for reading.

I live in Northants but don’t teach there. That’s horrendous and I hope you get some answers soon Flowers

Thank you, it’s driving me potty!

Can you contact a Councillor? An MP? Phone another department and get transferred?

Sorry if you've tried all these.

Thank you, I hadn’t thought of MP or councillor, that can be next!

That’s an excellent idea. OP 💐 that is so stressful. I’d be raising a complaint through whatever the councils complaints procedure is. And involving your union. Also if you google ‘Northants pensions’ you’ll possibly be able to see where the fund is held and make contact that way.

Not Northants CC OP, but the same thing happened to me a few years ago with Norfolk CC just after I moved from there to another CC. When I checked my pension contributions, like you, it said '0', and I'd worked for them for 5 years, paying into my pension directly through my payslip! It took A LOT of phone calls and emails, but eventually it was sorted...'administrative error' 😱

I do wonder what would have happened if I hadn't checked and chased though!! 🤬

🤞 for you!

Just a thought...try going on their Twitter page and calling them out! Bad publicity is never good!!

Thanks all. I need to create a new Twitter account so I can’t be outed but yes that’s a good idea thank you.

It's possibly due to them splitting from ncc to different council groups. We had a lot of info on it at work but I didn't really take it in. I haven't checked my pension, not sure how I even do it!
