Are you sending the NEU letter to your head?

If your school is remaining open for all pupils, are you sending the NEU template letter to your head? Do you think the majority of your colleagues will or do you think they will go in as usual on Monday?

I agree in principle with everything the neu says. I don't feel safe, and schools should be shut. I just feel its been left very late. I don't want to be like the government; making big changes with no notice. I also feel like, as a tier 3 area, I may be playing my cards too soon. I'm very conflicted 🤣

It is very much an individual choice. But for me it was learning that the most common age group in ICU are 30s to 40s. This is the ages of most of our parents. The look on the faces of NHS staff speaks volumes. This is far worse than March. This is also in the peak of winter with sun-zero temperatures. How on earth can you keep a room adequately ventilated in those temperatures. Breathe in stagnant air or freeze. There was no dilemma for me. I will teach my class as best I can and attend to Key Workers to help keep the country going. Long term school closures are damaging, no question, but if we can jump on transmission now for too weeks we give the NHS a chance. None of us know if we may really need them - it’s not just Covid we could succumb to. Please please help them.

No it doesn't need to be letter headed. You can send it in an email.
