We are beginning the planning for the first week back and it honestly feels relentless.

No April half term, no June half term, just worked and taught throughout. August was manic with algorithms and CAGS, 2 results days, complaints, then two terms of bubbles bursting, isolation, close contacts, sickness, covering and now this.

I'm bloody exhausted and just wanted to have 10 days with my family, but we are back in and planning next week.

Arghhhhh, I know it is what it is and it's crap for everyone etc I just wanted to know I'm not the only one.

It's been utterly shit. I really feel for SLT and particularly our Head. She's done a pretty fab job and must be exhausted. I know she wanted to go see family and can't. There was a fab lady epidemiologist on Breakfast this morning who essentially said 'of course kids transmit it. They've known that for months and this whole testing with the crappy tests isn't going to protect anyone because they are going to test the kids who would be isolating because someone in family has it but as test is unreliable its going to still spread'. I just feel so sad for colleagues work8ng their butt off for a load of useless bull.

Yep. I don't mind working, I don't even really object to doing the T and T the government fail to deliver, but I really really do mind the utter garbage spouted by some mindless parents and sections of the media about "lazy teachers" etc. Also the Jenny Harries narrative that children are more likely to be run over by a bus.... is blatant Tory propaganda. Come into school, maskless, like the rest of us Dr, be coughed on, cried on, sneezed over etc in a small room full of 30 children with archaic heating/ventilation and see if you change your mind.
