Are secondary school staffrooms open/being used and if so what would be the best to send in for Christmas?

Hi - sorry non-teacher posting on this board! I usually send in presents for various of the dcs' teachers (large state secondary school full of bloody marvellous teachers) however half the time the dcs don't find the teachers etc so a number of presents never get to the intended recipients (and I suspect the dcs are embarassed!). I'll still do the usual (alchoholic) presents for form teachers and teachers who have run extra-curricular activities but I was thinking of sending in a few big boxes of chocolate for the staffroom this year (instead of trying to send small boxes to individual subject teachers). So I just wanted to check that would work okay in Covid times - are staffrooms in use? And, if so, any suggestions on what would work best - less really nice chocolates (eg Hotel Chocolat) or more "less nice" chocolates (eg boxes of heros or similar) or any other suggestions?

It will be school to school I'm afraid whether the staffroom is open, even if it is the numbers in it will be very limited. It loses the element of surprise but you could email the head to ask. I'm very impressed - secondary teachers do not generally receive gifts from parents, so it's very thoughtful of you!

Ours isn't open - any gifts sent to all staff are currently being hoarded in the head's office. I'm optimistic that he's not going to eat all 5 of the tins of biscuits that were there today.

Our staffroom is open and any gifts would be very gratefully accepted. Boxes of wrapped chocolates are great (Celebrations, Roses etc) rather than open boxes (Milk Tray etc) so that a teacher can grab one for later as they pass.

Thank you for thinking of getting gifts to the staff - I'm sure it will make their day (it would mine!).

Ours is open in that you can go in there to get a drink and use the microwave or photocopier and there are about 10 chairs placed about 3m apart over taped crosses on the floor. But people are bringing in treats and putting them in pigeonholes or on the counter - your own choice if you eat them. Most people are very grateful!

Ours is closed and we are all very spread around the school. We also have to quarantine everything so things aren't really being distributed to staff. A thank you message via email with a request to be shared to all staff would be very much appreciated I'm sure.
