Would it be weird to send teacher a box of chocs after a crap week?

The DCs go to a great school with lovely staff. This week's just been a bit of a nightmare for the head and the other staff involved. First a child got hit by a car right outside the gates (not seriously hurt, thankfully) and then today the police were called to break up a fight between parents at collection that ended with one woman visibly injured.

Would it be weird beyond the bounds of acceptability to send in a box of individually wrapped chocolates on Monday with a note thanking the staff for what they do and wishing them a better week?

That would be lovely and the staff would really appreciate it.

Oh good. I hope they don't hand them back saying they're a covid risk Confused

It'd be lovely. Bear in mind that they might not have access to the staff room though, ours has been closed for months.

It would be greatly appreciated in our school and they'd be scoffed in a minute!

Never! I would love that! Used to live abroad where gifts were bandied about by grateful parents far more freely and obviously, whilst it’s never expected it is so joyous on the rare occasion it occurs 😁

Good point about the staffroom. Something individually wrapped could be divvied up pretty easily.

We'd be delighted. We had a selection of tins of chocs delivered this week - a lovely gesture :)

What a lovely thoughtful thing to do. They will appreciate it.

I sent in some Heroes with a thankyou card and got a lovely email back from the head. I'm slightly embarrassed about going in later to collect the DC but it sounded like it was appreciated.

I've sent some wine to the learning support department. I'm not sure if they've had as dramatic a week as you describe but I imagine morale is pretty low everywhere.
