Bullying - how does your primary school deal with it, honestly?

My child is being bullied. He has been physically attacked, physically intimidated and verbally attacked by a child in their class. Both children are 10. I want to know what I can expect the school to do about it. There are two classes. Is it unreasonable to ask for the bully to be moved to the other class (and therefore bubble)?

I really want to make sure I'm not being unreasonable whilst still protecting my child. Thanks for any advice.
