I teach English as a second language at a primary school (not in the UK). We have a 10 y.o. girl who has just moved over from the UK. I want to keep her occupied in my lessons and help her maintain her English.

What would she be expected to do in the UK? What books should she be reading? Please throw some ideas my way. I'm not familiar with the UK curriculum (its changed so much since I was at school) so any information would be helpful.

Have a look at the Oak National Academy. Your native English speaker could just follow the UK curriculum for English like that.
