Any Sixth Form teachers out there?

I posted this in Coronavirus but hope its OK to re post here.

Any idea what the approach will be in Sixth Form Colleges in September? We've heard practically nothing from DS College, he's supposed to be starting A Levels in September and we still don't know if or how they will happen.

I was wondering if the College doesn't actually have finalised guidance yet, or if they are waiting for GCSE results?

They will be waiting for the next set of DfE guidelines which are due out on 11 August and will be waiting on GCSE results. Your DS has not actually enrolled yet at the college yet. I suggests he checks his emails for any updates.

Thanks. He's had a few emails but nothing of any relevance really. Will wait for the guidance to come out.

I’m a HoD in a sixth form college. A levels will take place and we are hopeful to open ‘as normal’ but we await guidance being released in a fortnight.

I work in a secondary with a 6th form and we are very much planning to be teaching 'as normal'. I teach a science and we can't do physical practicals at first but we will use video/animations instead to make sure students have the knowledge.

Obviously, we are awaiting confirmation on the 11th Aug. Everything crossed that things go ahead as planned.
