Do you think I could wear this to school?

With high waisted black trousers? No tummy on show.

I'm really struggling to find workwear now Oasis and Warehouse are gone.

With high waisted trousers, yes.

Hercwasonaroll · 18/07/2020 16:47

If 100% no tummy even when reaching/bending then OK. Maybe with a black vest underneath.

CheesecakeAddict · 18/07/2020 19:34

Hmm my school is quite relaxed but this would be pushing it

Lancrelady80 · 18/07/2020 20:40

No. A colleague once got a bollocking because during an observation she crouched down to speak to a child and the top of her knickers were visible above her trousers. (Perfectly ordinary shirt/trousers combo.) Have always been v mindful of lengths of tops since then

Appreciate that secondary should = less bending though, so with a vest top under might be okay.

Pandacub7 · 18/07/2020 21:06

I think it might be best to avoid crop tops in school. Just tuck in a blouse.

Hercwasonaroll · 18/07/2020 21:10

Our dress code would probably not permit it. On reflection I don't think it's massively professional. School isn't a fashion show. Plenty of places sell blouses, sainsburys if you're desperate!

seven201 · 19/07/2020 11:17

I don't think I'd wear that at my school. Also, I bought something made by the same company and am going to send it back because it stinks of chemicals and the quality of the fabric is not good.

Pieceofpurplesky · 21/07/2020 11:56

Why would you? It's going to flash flesh when reaching up, writing in the board etc.

trinity0097 · 22/07/2020 20:08

Only if you had something underneath, like a black vest that totally covered your stomach.

Somehow I’ve managed to find workwear while never buying a single thing in Oasis or Warehouse in my life. There are plenty of options out there, just look around a bit more. A cropped shirt isn’t appropriate for a work environment.

Clonakilty · 23/07/2020 17:45

Definitely not. Remember that when the students are sitting down they have a different perspective and they are looking up, slightly. They’ll see right under your top - not a good idea, especially if you have a class of adolescent boys.

Thanks all! I decided to leave it ☺️

Primark, matalan, tesco, sainsburys are all good for sensible schoolwear. Deffo no crop tops.
