Was I right not to pop a bubble?

I've been asked to cover a Reception class one morning a week until the end of term. I refused because I'm already in a class bubble (well two bubbles because 15 children per class are coming in on alternate weeks). I said I thought we shouldn't be popping bubbles. Another member of staff had already refused. I now feel like I've been really awkward, although everyone's been really nice about it.

I think you did the right thing. We are bringing all classes back over the next two weeks and have teachers now teaching a reception bubble and a year six bubble plus other teachers two bubbles in their own class. It's not right .

They should be telling the reception class that they can’t come in for one morning a week due to staffing. I’m sure parents wouldn’t be happy with the additional adult arrangement either. Putting both bubbles at risk and would mean if anyone becomes symptomatic both bubbles would close.
