Induction for new starters to your school - what are you most concerned about for September?

Children will be starting school, moving school, starting a new phase of education, such as post 16 or reception in (hopefully) September but at any case sometime in the future.

COVID has changed the lead up to this. What are you most concerned about as children start back?

How are you planning to address this?

I'm looking at this to support the education system and appreciate your thoughts.

Thanks.

I'm hoping for some ideas, but perhaps Friday night, after a long week just isn't the right time.
Hope though to get staff thoughts by early next week.

Our new Y7s haven't had a chance to do transition day or for us to have visited them at their current schools. That worries me.

Have you carried out anything 'virtually' Juicee - would that help?

We've done zoom sessions :)

Catchy intro, asking for issues rather than solutions to particular issues and a deadline. Anyone else think this is for a newspaper? 🤔

I'm really worried about the children coming into Reception. We usually do stay and plays, visits to their pre-school this term and then home visits in September. We're not going to be able to do the pre school or home visits. The stay and play visits will be in the week we usually to home visits. Many of them won't have been away from their parents/carers for months, some of them won't have seen people they don't know. It's going to take a lot longer than usual to get to know them and their families.
