My own child care if I'm back on 1st June

I don't know if anyone will be able to answer this but I've been sent an email today by my head asking if I'm available to be back in school from the 1st of June and before I work out how I feel about it, I don't even know if I am actually legally able to.

My childcare for my daughter when I'm working is my mum. She comes and looks after DD in our house 3 days a week normally. I know that if she attended a nursery I could probably send her back to nursery as a child of a key worker when I go back but can I send her to my mum's house or have my mum come here daily to look after her?

How old is your mum?

Pebbleinthesand · 18/05/2020 16:34

She's in her early 50s and has no underlying medical conditions.

She is my brothers age and he has school age children.

Well, you’re mixing households because you need to go to work. As far as I can see, that’s the same as mixing households with a childminder! I wouldn’t be worrying about this as long as your mum is happy and willing.

My HT has said staff can bring their childen into work with them if they need to!
