Nursery teacher - social distancing

So I’m back on the 1st June in my nursery classroom (3-4 year olds). At the moment it looks like I’ll only have 6 children. I’m looking forward to seeing them again but I’m confused about how much I’m actually expected to social distance from them and I haven’t had much guidance from SMT. Anyone know? I just cannot imagine being able to keep them 2m apart? Do the rules not apply at this age?

I'm also a Nursery teacher, we haven't been told yet what is happening re us reopening but as I understand it there is no expectation of distancing with younger children. I think the guidance specifically acknowledges this and that's why the focus is on small groups that stay separate. I'm OK with this personally but it might be an issue for staff with their own health issues/vulnerable people in their household etc. I think the guidance re removing/cleaning toys is also a challenge - it feels like we would have no provision left!

The government guidance has been released and has said no social distancing is expected.

It's worth reading the actual guidance, you can google it.

I’ve read so much in the last week, coupled with feeling with some really tough family stiff - I definitely haven’t given enough thought to work yet. Thank goodness we don’t have to do the social distancing - do you know what age that comes into play?

Social distancing is not expected at all in primary schools. For the older ones, eg Y6 they can sit at separate desks which will help but even then there is no expectation of it. That’s the reason for the ‘bubbles’ of no more than 15 children. Mixing within the bubbles is fine (apparently), mixing between bubbles is not.
