No social distancing at school, now they have positive cases

DH works at a special needs school, EBD. Private company, very profit driven.

The management seem to think social distancing does not apply to them. Twenty three people in a classroom for meetings
, daily. Actively encouraging the predominantly young staff to mingle. The only reason they have soap is , I sent a multi pack in. They have turned off the water heaters because it was costing money.

So finally they have a positive case.

I work with vulnerable people, some are shielding, all have MH issues, many have physical issues. I am my clients biggest risk due to DH's crap SLT.

Sensible ideas please. Do I ring DH's head office and request their risk assessment? DH has not been allowed to see it. Is there any bloody way I can influence another compamy's policy?

Wow. Is he in a Union? I'm not sure how it works if it's a private company.

No. The employment contract is between your husband and his school. As much as it affects you, you need to stay out of it and your husband needs to deal with this.

I'm no legal adviser so i hope someone can comment. Can you request it under the freedom of information Act? I thought if they are doing a public function (which sounds like they are) they have to comply even if they are private company?

Surely some of the parents must be concerned about policy too?

He needs to contact his union.

Councils have responsibility and ability to investigate and enforce safe working practices can't recall what dept ( environmental health, health and safety, trading standards ? ) bit horse has bolted though?

Don't ring your DH's work. They probably won't speak to you and it will be extremely embarrassing for him. Your DH needs to speak to his union. If he's not in a union, he needs to join one.

DH was staff representative, they asked him to step down on Friday. He left a notice on his door informing staff and telling them to contact their union directly.
This morning, no group meeting. Hot water., hand sanitiser stations at each doorway. Apparently more than two unions called the school this morning.
